It's been a beautiful last few days here in northern Georgia! For the last several days we've had temps in the mid to upper 70's, and mostly blue skies. I'm typing this post on Wednesday, and it's a lovely day, but by the time you read this on Friday we should be having some spring showers, and they are predicted for all weekend. And I'm so glad! The last 3 or 4 springs we've been sadly lacking in the spring shower department, and follow that with few summer and fall showers, too. We've been in a terrible drought, but we seem to be finding our way out of that now.
I don't have many things blooming right now, but I wanted to share them with you anyway. There are just a few blooms on my favorite camellia bush - it's called April Remembered, and is a very pale pink bloom. We planted it about 4 years ago, and it had not bloomed again untl this year, and I've been so excited to see those gorgeous pink blooms!
Also, I have a flowering Magnolia, in these parts sometimes called a 'tulip tree' that is just beautiful right now. The blooms are a paler pink on the inside and a deeper fuschia/purpley pink on the outside.
This second pcture is the top of the tree, looking up to the sky. The lamp post is in the corner of our yard.
And I've been digging in beneath the leaves so I can see what's putting out a little bit, and wanted to share a few of my plants that are dreaming of spring.
